The feed has left the country

· 1 min read

By the third week of June the Saudi creator calendar is somewhere else. London, Istanbul, Bodrum, a villa with a pool that could be anywhere. The exodus has begun, and the creators go first.

Which means the feed leaves before the customer does.

Picture one person. A woman in Riyadh whose own flight is still two weeks away. She is at home, at work, in the heat, and every time she opens her phone she is in somebody else's July. The hotel breakfast, the lounge, the abaya that travels well, the sunscreen in the cabin bag. Her body is in the Kingdom. Her attention has already gone through passport control.

Now picture the brand that keeps posting into that feed. A storefront on Tahlia Street. A summer offer photographed in the same mall she is trying to forget. All of it accurate, all of it well made, all of it addressed to a room that has moved.

A creator's permit says they may be paid to post. It says nothing about where they will be standing when they do.

So the summer creator question is which brands the customer takes on holiday with her. The luggage. The airline. The skincare that goes through security. The modest swimwear, the sandals, the linen she bought for exactly this. Those brands belong in a Bodrum feed because they are in Bodrum, in her hand, and the creator holding them is telling the truth.

A brand that is not one of those has one honest answer for the summer, and it is not a louder post. It is to be quiet and cheap until the feed comes home: the account kept warm, the voice lowered, the full price no longer paid to interrupt a holiday it was never invited on.
